Trip to Afar Denakil Depression

The Danakil Depression lies at the triple junction of three tectonic plates and has a complex geological history. It has developed as a result of Africa and Asia moving apart, causing rifting and volcanic activity. Erosion, inundation by the sea, the rising and falling of the ground have all played their part in the formation of this depression. Sedimentary rocks such as sandstone and limestone are conformable overlain by basalt which resulted from extensive lava flows.

We will take the first flight to mekele

DAY 2 : Mekele to Ahmedela.

We will take a car to get to Ahmedela

DAY 3 : Ahmedela excursions to dalol

over night Ahemedela camping.

DAY 4 : Ahemedela to Artale

night excursions by foot to volcano .

DAY 5 : Ertale to mekele

We will drive to mekele

DAY 6 : Mekele addis ababa departure

We will take a flight to Addis Ababa
